Rotary International is composed of 530 districts around the world with 50-100 clubs in each district. The building block of Rotary International is the local club, and the health, vitality, and success of the individual clubs generate the well-being of Rotary International. Our club assures its continuity and focus on our club objectives through the club committee structure. We have Rotarians who put their efforts into these areas:
Membership
All Rotary clubs deal with normal attrition. In order for the club to continue to serve its members and its community, we must constantly seek new members who are qualified individuals sharing the same ideals of Service Above Self.
Retention
The best source of members for a Rotary club is the current membership. This aspect of our Club Service is devoted to assuring that we are serving and utilizing our current membership.
Classification
Rotary club membership is anchored in the classification system This helps the local club by assuring that many aspects of the community are represented in club membership and that the club does not become a have for a particular profession. Very importantly, it also provides an organized approach to developing new members. A periodic survey of the professions in the community helps to assure that all qualified individuals have the opportunity to serve through Rotary.
Education
Rotary is a complex organization and the education of our members in the diverse aspects of Rotary and the many service opportunities of our local club is critically important. This applies to new members and also to the continuing educationof our members through our guest speaker program.
Fellowship
The social aspect of Rotary is very important to assure that the club continues to serve its members and community. Club fellowship activites include the club picnic, Rotary Ladies Tea, and the Christmas party. Periodic happy hours, fireside chats, and wine and cheese receptions add to the cameraderie of the West Grove-Avondale Rotary Club.
Communications
We promote regular communications with our members and our community through our club newsletter, web site, press releases, and advertising.
